The Mirena is OUT!

I just had my Mirena IUD removed today, and I am really excited about it! Getting it out is MUCH easier than having it put in. I was fortunate in that she found the strings and had it out in literally 5 seconds. You can expect a crampy little pinch, much like a Pap Smear, and then it's over and done with. I have experienced a trace amount of bleeding, but nothing serious. I am prepared to get my period, since I have read that it returns with a vengence. I know this sounds crazy, but my middle already feels lighter. Not like I lost weight, but like there is less pressure in my middle. I always felt pressure like I was constipated or something.

Now the real test begins, to see if and how quickly I lose weight, and if my other symptoms improve.

I currently weigh 246.2 pounds. I have been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and running, doing the bike, and lifting both arm and leg weights, obviously with no results. I eat around 1200-1500 calories a day. I am not going to change any of my habits, and lets just see what this does. I went to the gym today, and I can't tell you how excited I was. I feel like finally I will be working out and get results, instead of feeling depressed and banging my head against a wall. I have a good feeling about it all.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I'll try to answer any and all of them I get. I am going to continue to post at least once a week, so that I can detail my weight loss progress, and anything else that happens to me.

I am 37 and gave birth to my second child in February had Mirena placed April 25th with severe pain, not expecting. I noticed increased discharge initially, then irritability and moodiness a month later, decreased concentration. Then I started noticing wt gain. I had lost all but 5 lbs of baby weight and looked and felt good, and I am nursing. Today, I finally weighed myself and I am up 15lbs. It was a quick gain because I didn't weigh that much when I went to the OB on June 18th. I have had enough and will have this IUD removed.

after having my mirena in for 9 months, gaining 12 lbs all in my belly, losing my hair, being moody and depressed to the point of a breakdown/suicide attempt, I asked my doc to take it out. he still insists it can't possibly have ANY side effects and would not remove it. so I had my bf do it - so easy I didnt even feel it. that was 4 days ago. I feel lighter, happier, have more energy, and have already seen the bloated belly noticeable shrink down! I am SO glad it's out.

Wow, I'm so sorry for everyone who has had horrible and serious side effects. I have been lucky, I guess. I have had it for 3 years and have had no period almost from the start and no other symptoms at all. I just wanted to share that not everyone has bad side effects, but if I had seen this many bad reports before I got mine, I might never have got it. I'm more worried about getting it out. My 5 yrs is up in Aug 2014. I am leaving the US soon for Thailand, and was wondering if I should get it pulled first or try to figure it out if I'm still there at the end of the 5 yrs. I'm worried about months of heavy bleeding and tiredness at the time when I need to be traveling. Luckily I'm seeing good things about medical care in Thailand these days. I think I will wait.

i got my mirena about a year ago...and the first few months were horrible. I went to the my obgyn to make sure the mirena didnt move and she said all was fine. See im 24 and have three kids and do not want anymore, and having my tubes tied scared me, so i thought mirena would be a good idea. Now i experience somewhat normal periods once a month...but i will tell you this. I think its a myth when they tell you you wont have a period and two i partly got this so i could enjoy a better sex life with my husband but.....if anything mirena puts a strain on it with the constant bleeding, i got it place a month after having my third child and as any women know you have bleeding after your deliver and then with the bleeding from the mirena we were not able to be very intimate....so please anyone who is thinking of getting it....really think about!!!!

This is enough!...

I had the Mirena put in May, 2011. My doctor talked me into because its so great, bla bla. Yea, well she failed to mention the horrific pain that it can cause when going in! I dont have any kids,so she said it was due to my nerves breaking for the first time? Anyways, it felt like a small blade was being shoved up there. i actually fainted. when i woke up, i was dizzy, sore, and bleed straight through for 2+ months.
After the 2 months of cramping and bleeding, everything seemed to die down. So i thought..
I gained about 10lbs, got cystic acne on my face, went to the doctor a few times for large ovarian cysts ( which did go away thank God ), sex was painful, severe cramping, and i felt the urge to pee all the time! i also noticed i was very nervous about everything, got stressed easily, and even depressed.
i am scheduled to have the Mirena taken out tomorrow ( Thurs, Aug 23 ) and cannot wait!!!
My husband is going with me. I want him to see the crap women have to go through...Im just hoping its not as horrific getting it taken out then it was going in?!?! Muscle relaxers?? Hmmm....

I have had my Mirena for 4 years. I bled for about three months at first but then things seemed to even out and during the duration only spotted about four times in as many years. However, for the second time this year I have experienced foul smell, brown discharge, increasing pressure/discomfort, painful sex and vaginosis. My gyno did an ultra sound and examination and didn't find any cysts, etc. I decided today to have my Mirena removed and I have an appointment scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I was curious about the removal and did a Google search and found this site as well as so many claims of problems! I know that everyone is different and I'm praying that I don't get the horrible headaches and labor pains that I've read about. Thankfully I work for a naturopathic doctor and will bring up my concerns before my appointment so that I can have a plan if needed. I'm so glad that I read all of your posts and will bring up my concerns with my gyno before removal so I can have a plan set with her also. To all the ladies that have shared your experience, good or bad, I'd like to thank you all and wish you excellent health. I'll be back to let you know how I'm fairing.

This is Enough!...

Okay, so i went yesterday and had the Mirena taken out! I took a muscle relaxer to calm down, and 1,2,3, COUGH. it was out! Didnt hurt at all! A little cramping afterwards, but no bleeding.
I feel very relieved and honestly, less bloated.
My doctor wants me to get checked out for possible Endometriosis, which she said the Mirena helps with, but i said Screw that! Take it out!
To all those thinking of getting it... every woman's body is different. I wouldn't say don't get it, but at least think about the effects. The only positives were no period and not getting pregnant...As of now, i am hoping i can lose a little weight that was gained, my face will clear up, and sex will be a lot more enjoyable...Im going to stick with Birth Control Pills. No more foreign objects.. ..Hope this helps :)

How long after removal did your AF return???

I had the mirena put in about 8-10 months ago and never thought twice about strange health issues that have popped up over the last 6-8 months. I bled for a month after insertion and even today I bleed lightly but for long periods of time. The heavy blood flow and horrible cramping is gone but at what price?

About 4 months ago I came up with what appeared to be pregnancy symptoms and some sort of uterine or yeast infection. Went to the doctor to find out it was just an ovarian cyst and no I don't have an infection nor am I pregnant. Apparently these cysts give off pregnancy hormone prepping your body for a baby without actually having one. The appearance of an infection was just the change in appearance of my discharge from the mirena. So I took the Doctors word when he told me all was good and went on with my life not looking back.

Two months later I am dealing with acid reflux so bad that my throat is raw and blistered and I am unable to eat. Now a person who has had minimal heart burn throughout their life is now experiencing an extreme case of acid reflux. This seemed odd. Maybe I am just getting older, weigh a little more, and have to deal with the stress of raising two kids along with part time work.

Two month later and a huge change in diet, great weight loss, increased exercise, and supplements catered to keeping my body chemistry balanced and the problem has persisted. Today my glands are swollen at my neck and my throat is raw due to reflux. Based off the Mirena "bad effects list," the mirena should not be a factor in the diagnosis of this problem but I can't disregard this as an item was is being used to replace a natural hormone produced by the body.

Initially I thought about the Mirena as a potential problem but after researching side effects and drug information I could not realistically put two and two together and have it make sense. How can an inter Uterin device cause heart burn? It had the wrong drug, in the wrong location, and in too low a dose, etc, etc. But after reading a large number of posts on individuals just like me experiencing acid reflux, cysts, pregnancy symptoms, and weight gain maybe the IUD is the problem.

It took my husband, a non biased outsider to say this morning, you know your symptoms started when you had the IUD inserted? I said no way and then he put together two and two together and the answer was in act four. I could not refute the evidence, but it took him saying it for me to not deny it.

So the moral of the story is, if enough bad things happen and they seem to be linked, start from the beginning and make changes one at a time until the problem is fixed. I changed my diet and lost 25 lbs, I eat nothing but healthy foods, I no longer burp acid and yet my throat is raw. The next step is to have an endoscopy done to make sure there is no underlying condition to the muscle that keeps the stomach acid in the stomach. The next step will be to remove the mirena and remove the hormone that could be the possible cause of the acid reflux issues. This could also help prevent future cysts and strange discharge.

Hi Tamara here...I had a Mirena IUD for years but when it came time to replace it I got a new one inserted. Two months later I had a seizure with no history or family history of seizures. I am so happy I read the post on this site because I have had all the neurological tests possible with no answers what so ever!

Omg! Everyones stories got me really nervous! I've had my iud in for a lil over 4 yrs and I've had a lot of discomfort like the first 2 yrs of it in, eespeecially durring sex, but when I went to the clinic in 08 they kept telling me I didn't have one and if I was "SURE I DID" then I needed to go to a doc and get it checked, so I went to a doc, got billed out the yin yang, and on top of the cost, the doc hurt me really bad "TRYING" to find the thing, he said nothing was there and I needed to pay for an ultra sound, and at that point while having it, I wasn't bleeding much when my period was on, but when he checked me I bleed for like 2 or 3 weeks, but any way, I never had the money to pay for an ultra sound and as time went by I guess the pain went away, I know it has to still be in me also because I don't have a period any more!! I'm only 24 years old. But its getting months away from me getting it out and I'm so scared to hear what there are going to say!!! :(

Any one think if something was wrong, that I would be in a lot of pain?? I can tell its still there, and when I was working out at the gym I could feel it and it hurt then, but now I'm not having any pain, just a little discomfort every now and then. I want to cry now, knowing I went since 2008 to now being 2012 and not ever getting it checked! Its supose to come out in march 2013!

Same person from last post!

Hi Mary, My name is Gena and I had a Mirena for 2 1/2 years and just had it removed a month ago due to the fact of having very severe pain in my lower left side. So bad I was crying and kept telling my husband I would be getting a epiderral by now if I was having another kid. Come to find out my Mirena was sideways on my left side. They removed my mirena and as of this day I'm still having extremly severe pains in my lower left side, the day my mirena came out I have been HEAVY BLEEDING ( super plus tampon every 1-2 hours), headaches, legs very sore, back pains, and very drained out. I've seen 5 different drs since then and they all have said this is normal and only put me on pain meds, although next week I will be starting physical therapy to build up my muscles down there. I was wondering if you have heard of other people having the same problems or have any suggestions?

I agree...ive had a great experiance...I am getting it removed tomorrow after 5 years ...and am pretty hummed about it...I hope to get it replaced soon after...haven't had a period in 4 years...and really don't want to start now...plus I am using it as leverage with my bf who wants babies..I will remove it when we're married...:P

Hi everyone! I am getting Mirena out today at 4pm. I cannot wait to get it out. I have lost at least 50% of my hair and I have VERY thick hair I couldn't imagine if I had thin hair. I also suffered extreme depression and was put on Paxil by my primary care doctor. After Paxil didn't work she suggested I get the Mirena out. I also gained all my baby weight back and I look pregnant. Within 6 months of having Mirena I gained 30 pounds and lost my sex drive, happiness and hair. I do not plan on getting pregnant again for awhile. I just pray that the next birth control I go in is NON hormonal. I am hoping for the diaphragm and for it to work. Does anyone have any good birth control stories that are with out hormones?

Hey, Thanks for the info I've had Mirena for about 2 weeks now and I have been scared since lol I hate the idea of something being there and the fact that im bleeding still and it may last up to 4 months makes me wan it out faster. All my grandparents have past away due to cancer so I am a little scared that this may increase my risk I rather use condoms then to be worrying all the time my Mirena will be taken out next week. Thanks

crazy how for 3 years i thought everything i was going through was just "life" and "age" after reading most of the comments i fially opened my eyes and realized it was the mirena giving me all these mood swings and weight gan and painful sex and so on.... i am going to make an appointment tomorrow to get it removed asap. for all you who cant afford to pay for it, you dont have to. go to a planned parenthood and ask about the green card. trust me most likely you'll qualify for it and you can get the iud removed, and you get free papsmered and free doctor appointments :)

I just hit the 7 year mark of having the Merina IUD - while I experienced the weight gain, not really mood swings or any of the other mentioned side effects, I cannot tell you how great it has been not to have a period for 7 years. I am 49 now and had my tubes tied 19 years ago. Perhaps that is why it has worked for me. I just had my annual a couple of days ago and Dr. and I decided to keep it in as long as it's not causing me any issues. I have to say while I have not been happy with the weight gain, i'm much happier not having to deal with awful periods, the smell and filth I feel having periods. I'm sorry that many people have had a bad experience, I am so glad I did it. We'll see what happens once we decide when the right time to remove it is. Good Luck!!

I have had the.mirena in for 4 years and the best thing that I have ever done! They would not suggest the mirena if it was going to cause people hell! The pill makes you put on weight as does the implant!

Hi I had the mirena back at the end of June and it came out a couple weeks later. I got my period about a month after that my face cleared up dramatically from acne and my period was short and light but this period right now has lasted way over a week, is that normal?

Hi ladies. I've had mine inserted since December 2007. I will remove it in November or December. I have a question. For the ladies who gained weight while on Mirena. Have you lost weight after the removal, how long did it take to see weight loss, and how much have you lost? I have gained 40 lbs, and I am scared that after that I won't lose any weight. Please help me!

So glad I found this blog! I realise now how many side effects I probably have from it. I am 30 years old, have one child, and have had the Mirena for 2 years, 3 months. I had lost 2 dress sizes after pregnancy and breast feeding, but gained it back after having the Mirena put in. I have had pregnancy symptoms several times (causing major anxiety). I did not have a period the first 8 months but since then have started having spotting every 1-4 weeks that lasts a couple of days to a couple of weeks. And I have even considered getting on medication for depression/anxiety because for the last year I have had some depression and mood swings.
My doctor did NOT explain all the side effects and I, stupidly, did not fully research it. While several friends do enjoy the IUD, I and several other friends have had problems. All of us had doctors that only talked about the good things, the only negative they explained was that there might be cramping after it was inserted! After seeing this blog I am planning on having it removed, switching birth control, and switching doctors! So glad I finally took the time to look this up and that I can now explain all the odd things that have been happening to my body!

I'm 40 and mother of two and I just had my Mirena removed 6 days ago after having it in 4.5 years. I loved it! beacause you didn't get you period and din't have to remember taking the pill. Well that was until I found out that all my problems was linked to Mirena. I never put 2 and 2 together beacause Dr never said it could be that when I went for ,dizziness, stomach pain, hairloss, depression. I'm 118lbs and I always looked like I was pregnant and felt bloated. I would get this charp pain in my lower stomach from getting up from laying down and the dr just said it's probably my intestines moving around( duh,is that normal?)I would get ovarian cysts and Dr, said it's normal. after taking it out my dr said I would only spot and not get any period yet, OMG! was she wrong. first day I was spotting, second day it was bleeding and 3;rd it was gushing out with big blood lumps. i almoust thaught I had been pregnant and had miscarrige. My stomach pain is gone and I hope I will get my hair back soon. Thank you all for coming out and telling the truth about mirena. I wish the Dr's would have told me earlier instead of me doing my own investigation. Time for my husband to get snipped instead.

This is the best blog I have read about the Mirena. I have had the Mirena in for the past 7 months (4/1/12). Had the choice of 3 options; Merina IUD, Endometrial Ablation (cauterization) or birth control pill for the purpose of controlling heavy & lengthy periods and birth control. Chose the Merina for the added thought it would help with the next 10 years (2 time procedure) and menopause symptoms.
About a month BEFORE having the Merina, I was diagnosed with extremely high allergies to almonds, tree nuts & peanuts. As well as having a food intolerance to Locust Bean Gum, which causes me to have neck & back pain, heavy arms & headaches. All of this really affected my eating habits, really cut back on calories (not being to eat a lot of foods). After my first attack, the ER doctor told me the next time he would see me I’d be a 100 pounds. From the day of having the Mirena placed I have gained 10 pounds where as I was losing on a steady base of 1 pound a week!
Every time I had food allergy attack; throat closing, tightening of chest, hives. My body would also go into a form of panic attack - paralysis of my body, seizures, elevated blood pressure (112/198 was the last one), elevated temperature (104). After one very traumatic visit to the ER, at first they thought I was having a Stroke. Then they requested I see a Neurologist, which provided me with no new information, because they discharged me as it being a panic attack. After each one it takes me about 3 days to recover and I still have black spots where I don’t remember and have issues with my memory now.
So, in the past 6 months I started taking control of my diet (really avoiding an allergy attack), exercising to relieve pressure and feeling of just not feeling good. I have been on a fairly strict 1400 calorie diet, exercise 5 days a week biking, running (600+ calorie burning work outs) and I have not lost an ounce AND still feel out of control at times and depressed.
Have a bloated stomach most days of the week (4 month prego look), mood swings/rage at times, dizziness, halo’s in eye sight, depressed (figured it to be my Seasonal Disorder kicking in but this has gone beyond that), anxiety attacks (heart racing, high temp, chest restricting), feeling of having to vomit at times, infections, cramping, no motivation.
After reading as many posts as I can from this blog I fairly certain it is the Mirena causing all of this. I have an appointment at the end of the month (November 2012) to have it removed. I am hoping that it helps with the weight, seizures and moods because I hate living like this!
I will be back with updates and checking . . .
Thank you for starting this blog.

I am the mom of a daughter who had the mirena put in 2 weeks ago and i had the doc pull it out yesterday. while i write this my daughter had to run back into bed after vomiting and feeling terribly ill..In the 2 weeks she had this IUD she pretty well vomited at least every other day, losing weight NOT gaining..depressed..yet on depression pills...migraines..hives..back pains..im sick to my stomach as she is an almost 4 year post transplant patient..the IUD was put in due to anemia and having huge blood clots with heavy periods..she was recently taking her iron diligently and her levels went up..im sorry we didnt wait to see how much higher her levels would have gone up before putting the Mirena in..who knew it would cause such harm or should have we known better as she tried 2 different types of birth control pills prior and had an adverse reaction to them too..i just wonder how long does it take for it to come out of her system..im just "beside myself"

I am on my second Mirena. I'm 42 with three kids, and love, Love, LOVE my Mirena! I have an excellent obgyn who trimmed my string, so that was never problematic. Here's some advice for mood swings...which I never had before childbirth, but I told my doctor what a monster I had become after my third child and BEFORE my Mirena. TAKE CALCIUM. Just try it. My obgyn said to take two ultra tums every few hours for those couple days to combat the mood swings. I nearly laughed telling him I need strong meds for how I felt. He convinced me to try it first...to see if it helped and that studies had shown calcium helps. HE WAS RIGHT. I have told so many women, and it has helped many teachers I work with.
I lost tons of hair 4-6months after each child. That's normal, but if you go on Mirena post parting, it would seem like cause and effect when it's really just different circulation after child birth.
I told a colleague and recommended it to her. She got one too and loves hers.
I just got mine replaced after five years, and I will say I had more cramping this time and am on my second week of spotting, but I honestly can't remember what it was like fiver years ago...hence me on this site. Insertion was what I remembered: a sharp piece of glass being slid inside and twisted around...or what it felt like...and then some light spotting, but oh oh oh...to not have periods is worth it.

It got LOST!
I am 25 years old, i went to the Doctor today to have my Mirena IUD removed because it has been five years since the first placement after my son was born. I laid on the table while they opened my cervix and snooped around in there. Come to find out they could not locate the IUD. Well lets back track about a year and half ago i started having severe lower right side pain, found out i had/have multiple cysts on my ovaries. They were/are small but, most likely caused from the Mirena IUD. The pain subsided, for a few months then returned I just medicated myself with motrin & tylenol the pain never got to the point where i needed to contact a Physician. About 6 days ago I started having the worst of the worst menstrual bleeding and cramps that I have ever had in my life. The bleeding was so heavy I needed TWO forms of protection! Mind you I have not had a period in five years [compliments of the Mirena]. As I am laying on the table almost throwing up and in tears from the pain the Doctor gives up says its not there and is worried it fell out and I had a miscarriage, or it has floated up, up, and away and it causing severe damage to my insides and is worried that it caused all the heavy severe painful bleeding I have been experiencing the past 6days. I have an Ultrasound scheduled for 4:30pm today to see what the heck is going on, If it is in fact floated up then I will have to have surgery to have it removed from my body. I am so disgusted that I let myself put this foreign object into my body, it makes me want to vomit. I will in fact spread the word to all my loved ones , to never get the MIRENA and the makers & manufactures should be responsible for my medical bills. !!
Signed,
A very upset consumer!

Hi, my name is Jackie. I had my mirena in for 4 years and a few months and for the most part it went pretty well; no periods for four years does kinda rock. But what really got me wanting to take it out was the weight gain ( i have gained a total of 50lbs while it has been in) and the mood swings. It wasn't so bad at first, looking back now I think the symptoms came on gradually but lately I have been noticing how easy it is to go to *itchy mode and I know that's not me. I had also been having horrendous cramps; I mean these cramps hurt more than when I gave birth to my son; so I guess you could say I have a high tolerance for pain. By the end of the cramping I would be on the floor, sweating. So very happy that I got it removed. I would still recommend it to anyone because everyone's body is different. However, I don't think I will get it again after my next child.

Hello all! Here with a positive post-removal story! I had my mirena 12/2011 to 12/2012. My symptoms included crazy weight gain (back to my full-term pregnancy weight!!), acne, severe depression/mood swings, complete withdrawal from friends and family, complete loss of libido (HATED being touched by DH at ALL), weird hip pain, memory issues/brain "fogginess." When I brought issues up with my doc, repeatedly told it "couldn't be" the mirena, and "just give it a few more months." :/ After coming across this forum, I cried- I WASN'T CRAZY!! Had mirena removed 12/7/12.
In the past month, without changing ANYTHING ELSE:
*Dropped 20 lbs and 4 pants sizes already!
*Libido came back completely about 1 week post-removal (DH very happy for this one!) :)
*Acne all cleared up!
*Constant hopeless/depressed mood gone
*No more crazy mood swings
*No weird hip or arm pains since removal
*The "fog" is GONE- I FEEL LIKE A NEW PERSON!!!

Thank you all SO much for sharing your stories- this forum may have saved my life and marriage! <3

I have just had my mirena removed after two years. On the plus side yes my painful periods stopped and I don't want children so it's good to not have to worry but I think the side affects are questionable. I'm in the U.K so we get this free on the NHS. The nurse asked me to cough and he just pulled it out. It was uncomfortable but not as bad having it inserted. I had a lot of distruption in my personal life but I feel that my symptoms have been made worse by the mirena. I suffered with depression, disrupted sleep patterns, night terrors, alopeica and continued hair loss while I was on the mirena. The Dr wanted to try me with anti depressants but I thought I'd remove it first to eliminate this as a contributing factor.

I had the mirena inserted to control menstrual bleeding after very severe anaemia and am very grateful that it worked. I was struggling before then.

However, the weight gain has disturbed me (I was always thin) and I haven't felt like myself for years. I have slight pressure in the groin, water retention in my legs, slightly thinned hair and acne. Until recently this was all still better than the crippling anaemia.

It has now been five years and I will have it removed soon. I am very afraid of the old problems reoccurring but the weight gain makes me feel like a stranger and I have suffered depression for a few years now, I'm hoping that was caused by the mirena.

I am 44. I have four children in early adulthood and late teens.

I am mostly afraid of the return of heavy menstrual bleeding as I work evenings in retail at a busy store, alone, and cannot easily make toilet stops (to change pads etc) so am hoping this doesn't happen. Also my job, which I really need, involves long hours of standing. Clearly everyone is different but this symptom is perhaps likely? Has anyone heard whether it is worth taking supplements etc before removal to ease the symptoms of withdrawal of the hormones?

I am 41 years old and had a mirena after the birth of my last child at age 36. I am having it removed thursday and trying to find info on the effects after having it removed.
The side effects i have after having it included extreme depression for about 6 months or so and it lessened as time went on but the mood swings have continued. I have gained weight but i also began working in a bakery as well , so not sure how much is one or the other, maybe combination of the mirena and working in a bakery. For 6 months or so after intercourse I would have bleeding but my periods have since gone now, with an occasional few days of spotting here and there every 3 months or so.

For the people that had recurring yeast infections, how long did it take for it to stop after having the mirena taken out?

I was 42, had my 4th and final child and went and I had my Merina fitted in July 2011, I did experience the following side effects over time, more spots, loss of libido completely, and then on the 12th March 2011 - 4 GRAND MALs in one night, everyone had gone to bed and it was around 10pm, I went to the loo and had just finished went to reach the toilet roll with my left hand but my hand froze and would not quite reach it, I felt my eyes pull to the left and it felt like my head was turning / pulling to the left and looking over my left shoulder, my eyes were really pulling left and I felt my self begin to slide of the toilet, I remember saying “no” as I though that I was dying and was petrified with the most ultimate sheer fear, I was very scared and thought of my children, and that’s what I remember, I don’t know how long I had been on the toilet floor (I had not managed to clean my bum or pull my clothes up). I then vaguely recall reaching for the lock on the toilet door, I don’t know how and I do not remember but I next recall leaning over our bed and saying “I think there is something wrong” (he later told me that he had heard me clambering up the stairs slamming the stairgates, he said it sounded like I was really angry or was extremely drunk but at the time waited till Id got upstairs.
I then immediately slumped onto the floor and proceeded to have a Grand Mal on the floor of our bedroom, during which time he called an ambulance and was putting me in the recovery position. I was laid on the floor and during my post ictal period struggled to speak but could hear him. This must have been the second seizure as the first will have been in the downstairs WC. I remember seeing the black shiny shoes of the paramedics near me, they tried to get me up but I then had another Grand Mal in front of them. They took some readings whilst I was on the floor my blood pressure was very low (its normally low around 90 / 60, my usual pulse is around 60bpm) but was lower than usual, thy did my blood sugar and then put me in the ambulance, I had started vomiting, was post ictal. I eventually came round in the ambulance, vomited all the way to the hospital. In triage I was put on a trolley and slept, the doctor eventually got round to seeing me and woke me, this must have triggered another Grand Mal on the trolley, I had wet myself and was very exhausted, felt nauseous and really just wanted to sleep. They moved me to a ward and I slept till the following day. Felt much better in the morning though was still very tired. I had a CT scan, X-ray on my foot which looked broken as I must have injured it whilst getting up the stairs at home, lots of bloods completed. Nothing abnormal was found except my white cell count was elevated. I was discharged and sent home.
I know that I don’t get much sleep, e were going through a stressful time and were due to move house 3 weeks after this seizure episode, I hadn’t slept well for a few nights being woken every couple of hours by my daughter who slept in our bed with us at the time. In the weeks that followed I saw the neuro who told me that if I have another I will need to be medicated. I had an EEG completed to test for epilepsy but everything came back normal. I proceeded to get on with my life (without my driving privileges) and tried to put the whom awful experience behind me.

Hi,
I'm sooo sorry everyone has had bad experiences with the mirena. I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. I don't have to think about it. I've had NO weight gain, or any other bad side effects. I barely have a period and they are few and far between. I tried 3 different versions of the pill and I almost killed myself. Mirena has been nothing but the best, and except for the 2 weeks after I got it in, the few cramps I have had, have been manageable and very short lived. I got the mirena in, because my periods were every 18-20 days and I was REALLY moody. Once I turned 18, I had proved that I was over the initial irregularity of having periods, the pill made me suicidal, and the mirenia made me better. I hope it works out and everyone gets healed.

I have seen several posts about the side effects and removing the mIrena. It has been hell from the start. I have had mine in for about 14 months and went against my better judgment to have it removed immediately. I had all the symptoms mentioned plus some. One in particular is concerning. Has anyone had problems with cysts in the armpit causing infection requiring antibiotics and draining??? I have had severe cases and now the Dr is saying I will have to have surgery to have my sweat glands removed. I did some research and it turns out that they can be caused from change in hormones. Just wondering if anyone else had problems with them???

Ive had my mirena in for 5 whole yrs .... & for the most part is has made me gain weight, caused severe anxiety & depression. istuck it out though due to me already being a Teen mom, i was 16 when ihad my daughter back in 2007... i tried pills and it made me have a "mild seizure" so the mirena helped me alot being that i never got pregnant over these 5 years ! i gained over 40 pounds now that i am 22 i finally got it out today i am very excited yet a bit nervous about it !! due to all for the comments that are very scary .. but i feel good about having it removed , my dr. pressured me to get a new birth control but i kinda want to try the natural thing since i have been plugged up for 5 years... i wana feel normal again & i hope this is my break ... i hope no more anxiety, always feeling real anxious or like somone is after me.. call me crazy but i have never had these feelings before the mirena i wanna get my life back my weight and happiness back ... ive been labeled As the BITCHY friend... as i recall back in 2007 i never was that person my mood swings changed so much ... im looking fowarded to getting the happier ME back !! im not too religious but i feel that god made us a certain way and we should accept that instead of letting this doctors plugg us up like test dummies.... good luck ladies

Hi everyone! I just got my Mirena taken out today after having it since July 2009. The removal was simple and painless. My experience with the mirena was great for the first 2 and a half years. I had no periods which was great cause my period was normally very heavy and I had bad cramps. Starting last year, I had bad headaches, mood swings and weight gain and some acne. I had a pap smear this past december and it showed bacteria around the strings which was probably why my stomach ached so much. So like I said, I got it out today and now im lightly bleeding. Nothing on the pad, just when I wipe. I am wanting to have another baby but I heard its best to wait a month or two so that your uterus can thicken back up to hold a baby. All in all, I am so glad to finally have this thing out of me! I feel such a relief! Good luck to everyone!

Thank you for sharing. I am actually going through the same exact thing right now. And wondering what is going on with me. I had the mirena put in 2 years ago. I had the same symptoms and ended up in the er twice for the same reason. I am wondering if I should get my mirena out too.. Please give me some advice!

Had mirena on the advice of consultant at the time of an operation. I had not had any problems previously but he suggested this was preventative re hysterectomy in later years. I had this in for four years. I had bleeding for the first six months then nothing. I had this removed last July and had spotting September and October. I have just been informed by my GP that I have gone through the menopause without having any symptoms. I'm 41. My mother was in her 50's. Although not rare I have been informed that they can not say the mirena does not cause premature menopause. I am traumatised as this was not expected as I had never had any problems previously. Please seek proper informed advice before having this.

I currently have Mirena and I desperate want it out. However, my insurance doesn't cover removal and I just can't afford it right now. I am so depressed, I have no sex drive which comes into sharp focus every time my fiancé tries to be romantic and I end up in tears, I've gained 45 lbs, I have bled continuously for the 9 months that I have had it, and I feel like I am PMSing every second. I am so desperate that I am close to taking it out myself but am obviously worried that I'll hurt myself as my uterus is tilted completely toward my back. I regret getting this IUD every second of everyday and can't believe that I am stuck with it in me because of money...

I couldn't be paid thousands of dollars to put that evil thing back in.

I never put any of the side effects together. I too gained weight I got up to 289 lbs, I am 5'11" and still was able to be active. I had mood changes and anxiety and just thought that it was just life getting in the way. I have never been so heavy in my life so I went to Jenny Craig and lost 80 lbs and started to feel good again but the weight loss just hit the wall. Everything i have tried it just will not come off. My husband and I are super active and eat right everyday. I jsut had the device removed two weeks ago and now I am excited to wait for the results. I am hoping not only to lose weight but to get pregnant too.

Hello! I got my Mirena placed in Jan 2012, I have no kids so putting it in HURT! I got through it though! It is now April of 2013 so a year and three months later I can say I want this thing OUT! I loved the light to no periods, not worrying about an every day pill, and the fact its the best bc on the market. I started with little to no side effects! I noticed about 10 months in I would cramp so bad in my lower stomach! I would cry and need ice packs or warming but never helped NO type of pain med would help either! I ignored it thought it would pass. about same time I noticed a burning lower right back pain like someone would put a lighter to my back, and it would spread down my leg! TERRIBLE! I have 2 bulging discs so I thought thats all it was! Well doing some search I found it CAN be linked to Mirena, so I am hoping it can will be gone when I get it out (TOMORROW). I also feel like I can sleep ALL DAY. I would be happy if I could get away with it! Sex has come hard to enjoy because I am more focused and worried of being in pain because of this thing! My sex drive is low also! My smell down below has not been the same sense insertion! I went to the doc no infections NOTHING he just said its normal for the IUD and to deal with it if I want to keep a great BC. I have ignored all this and went on with it because of its great rating, but no more ignoring all this! I just want to be normal again! If this message helps make any other ladys make the next step do it! You can find another BC stop going through all this crazy because of a good rating, this thing called Mirena is the DEVIL! I will handle the "Mirena Crash" if it means this thing is out of me!

I just want to say a big thank-you to everyone who posted here--thanks to you, I'm going to steer clear of the Mirena. My doctor suggested it for my (occasionally) painful fibroids, and I was dubious because I'd had bad side effects years ago from a high-progesterone pill, which made me feel like I had a constant bladder infection (of course, doctors back then said "Oh no, it can't be the pill!"). She gave me the line about the hormones in the Mirena being confined to the uterus and unable to affect anything else, so I was actually considering it. Not any more. I will live happily and healthily with my fibroids and not get myself suckered into "cures" that are worse than the problem itself.

Hi...this is my story and if it can help any other women then pls read...

I got mirena in dec 2012 after the birth of my son who was 10 months then. I was told it would help wi my severe endometrioisis- well fast forward to may 2013, 5 months later...I still have spot bleeding foul smelling discharge I've have be and yeast infections. My blood pressure has gone up which dr want to now put me on meds to control, my weight gain is unbelievablely high! I have gained 15 pounds in five months! Not normal or healthy. I have started having heart palpitations and shortness of breathe.

Needless to say it didn't help with my endo issues but instead caused more and different health issues. I had it taken out yesterday may 10, 2013. And I breathe a breath of calmness knowing it was for the best.

I still have to see a cardiologist to check my heart, hopefully it is good and the mirena didn't cause any damage to it.

Pls listen - the moral of this story...mirena is no good. It doesn't help u and gyn's lie u know ur body listen to it.

Take care and best of luck!

I too was told how amazing the mirena is...blah blah...ive always had heavy period pains in the past bt omg there so called mild cramps did not prepare me foe what has felt like early birthing pains. It did not tell me I may need time off work and may struggle to do anything due to pain. I have only had mine in for a week and a half and its been hell. My dr nor family planning who did the pricedure will take it out yet. Im so close to yelling at someone...they make out its all in your head and ur just being a drama queen. Over it I want this thing out...

Hi I have had the mirena in since last september and I love it. I don't have my period and I can feel the string, no weight gain and experienced slight acne for about two weeks. I agree that it works differently for everyone and that the negativity surrounding is scar. My little sister keeps telling me to get it removed and tgat it is going to be super painful if I wait because it will stick to me tissue of my uterus or worse imbed itself! It is starting to annoy me and ever since she said something I feel crampy. Since your situation is similar to.mine (positive) I thought I would ask...Did you experience pain with removal?

I was totally freeking out! I feel so pregnant since my Mirena IUD was put in...belly swollen, boobs and nipples sore like Ive been breast feeding or something and its only been 3 weeks since I have had it in. I am 38 years old, have 2 children and know what it's like to feel pregnant. I felt fine the 1st week but the 3rd week symptoms have gotten weird!! I cannot suck in my belly. Hurts to sit or bend over. I really feel like Im 3/4 months pregnant (swollen) and I know Im not. This morning, I felt a swollen golf ball size thing near my left side of my lower abdomen (maybe ovary). I couldn't sleep 2 nights because of the discomfort and my nipples being so sore/sensitive. I called my OBGYN and setup an appt to have it checked out and immediately just asked to have it removed. I have been on diff birth control all my life and never felt this way. My OBGYN was trying to talk me out of removing it and wanting to prescribe some antibiotics to control the inflammation in my ovaries but I just told her I wanted it out. She examined me and saw no signs of redness or infection but knew I was tender when she pushed on my lower abdomen. And I only had it in for 3 weeks. She claims I may have pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) caused by the IUD being put in. the IUD made my cervix more susceptible to the natural bacteria occurring in my cervix. I am the type that rarely gets sick, had only 2 yeast infections in my life, or any type of infections in general and Im a tough cookie. I still have to go on antibiotics for 2 weeks and get a shot just in case there is an infection. I am so glad it's out! So weird!

I have had mirena inserted to help with menopause problems after having polyps removed from the uterus. was already suffering with depression hair fallout and heavy bleeding with the menopause. The only reason for any weight gain was eating too much and not enough exercise hormones do not make you fat and they are not a weight loss solution just as there is no such thing as a fat gene. It sounds like mirena is not for young women.I live in Australia and if I want it removed it will cost nothing. At the moment I feel fine and alot better than being on HRT. I am 55 by the way and still need to function at work so if this does not work for me then I will need to try something else. I would like to hear from other menopausal women there experiences with merina and other menopause help.
Best wishes to all
Judith.

Hi, I had my first mirena fitted over 10 years ago after heavy bleeding which was not helped by medication. I regularly had annual checks and a replacement after 5 years without any periods or problems. I have not suffered from any menopausal symptoms but was curious if I had passed through this. I had a blood test earlier this year which indicated that I had passed menopause and my GP said that it could be removed. I am reluctant to do so as I have no confirmation that I have been 2 years past menopause and that I will not get pregnant. Any one else in this situation?

Hello,
I had the merina Inserted nearly 7 years ago. Reading all these blogs I think I have been the luckiest woman in the universe. I had mine done as they didn't want to give me a tubal litigation that I originally went for as I had never and still haven't been under an anaesthetic and suggested this to me as it would last 5 years, and I knew I didn't want anymore children after having my 7th child. I found the merina wonderful easy as to get in, no pain, no bleeding, no weight gain if anything am thinner now that I was previously, no pain and definitely have not lost my libido!! I am looking at getting it removed now but that is just because I have had it in for nearly 7 years but I wouldn't hesitate to have another. Fiona

I've had mine in for almost 2 years. I've gained about 30 pounds, acne is TERRIBLE. My mood swings are TERRIBLE!!!! I've had a few panic attacks, cramping in my legs and back, terrible headaches, you name it! Doc says nothing to do with the IUD. I so beg to differ! It's going to cost me $147 to have it removed! Why must I pay?

Thank you so much ladies for sharing your stories I was very scared to research the side affects then I saw this website. I can say so much of my questions and emotions have been answered. I know myself and feel like I am completely a different person since getting this Mirena. I was very adamant about getting the Paraguard and the doctor just would not listen constantly insisting on the Mirena with every excuse in the book. It made me feel like she was getting a bonus for insertions or something. My life has been hell with this thing. I'm a mother of 4 and have all but become introverted removing myself from friends, family and my children due to these mood swings. I was very very sexually charged, it takes me to have a drink to feel any drive to do it. I haven't had hair issues but I do have lower back pain, lack of focus which is horrible being I'm in 2 colleges, I developed acne which I never had and the weight gain is unbearable causing me high blood pressure now. I put myself on my before the baby workout regimen and it does nothing. I even starved myself and nothing. Now I'm not saying to starve yourself but I did it to see if that would put a dent in this weight like it has before in the past and no it didn't. I need this thing removed now feeling like I made a horrible mistake and I pray it's reversible. Please let me know if you have returned to normal after the removal.

Hi, I had the Mirena put in Nov 2012, I'm 18. I haven't had it that long, but from getting it, I already have PID and I've already had 2 ovarian cysts! I've gained about 10-15lbs, and lost my strings on top of that! My sex drive is so low, and my Fiancé is getting so tired of me complaining about the pain I get! I'm really contemplating getting it out, but I really like the feeling of not having a period ever! But I'm also afraid of getting it out because the insertion was awful! I passed out, and threw up from the pain.
Anyways, any advice?

Wow! Had I read this blog before I got my Mirena, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I'm sooo glad I did though! The first 2 months I had some spotting and cramping, but after that, it's been awesome! I've reached the 5 year mark now and haven't quite figured out what to do since my hubby and I have decided on ntntc next year ;) Since having the Mirena, I have lost 40 pounds and haven't used a full box of tampons in 5 years! My periods were mild to non-existent. I also loved freedom from taking BCPs religiously (which I wasn't good about anyway) and not needing condoms (because they always irritated me...even latex free). Sorry to sound like Positive Polly, but I agree with some other posters that not any one birth control method is right for everybody.

Terri,
I just recently had my mirena removed 4months ago, after 5yrs of use. Like u I had very few problems, just weight gain that was I knew was a possibility. I loved not having a period for 4yrs! But now that its out I'm wondering about the effects of not having those hormones. I had my tubes ties right after the mirena was removed so I don't have to worry about pregnancy. Now I'm getting headaches almost everyday and horrible migraines. I wonder if these are due to change in hormones. When I brought this up to my dr she brushed me off and said all she could do is refer me to neurlogist. So I'm asking u if u have had any problems since yours was removed? Has anyone else had any problems after mirena was removed?

Hi there. I had my merina out two days ago after having had it in for a period of 5 years and 3 months. Initially after insertion I had about 3 months of absolute depression and crying which gradually lessened after approximately a year. However my periods were regular and considerably lighter, I had no weight gain..if anything I struggled to keep weight on. After around 4 years of the merina, and generally feeling depressed and very low energy levels I also developed unexplained hives and heartburn which drove me absolutely mad. To top this off the last 6 months I have also not only continued to have hives after a full year or so but have irregular spotting and bleeding. I feel like i am premenstrual all the time. I went to my doctor 3 months ago, at the expiry date of my merina to get it out, only to be told that I should leave it in until i had decided which contraceptive to use after its removal. Also the doctor found that I had polyps on my cervix so would need to be referred to a gynaecologist. I was somewhat annoyed that I had been talked into keeping the merina after it's expiry date but because the doc said it can be left in a lot longer i agreed. Anyway 3 months later i received my gynae appt and went to this excited about getting the merina removed. I have to say removal was actually quite painful but probably heightened by the fact i had the polyps removed at the same time...They didn't even offer me any pain relief..much to my surprise and consequent pain of their removal. Horrible experience but am so pleased the merina is out. I have had quite bad cramps and bleeding in the two days since it has been taken out but mentally I feel like I'm on the road to recovery. I am quite certain the merina was responsible for my depression and lack of energy and will never get a foreign device of any type put into my body again.

And hopefully I will get rid of my hives also. Heres hoping.

I have been using the mirena for 15 years I have 5 children and have been using it since i was 33 ( I am on my third one ) thought i had to have it replaced now but my doctor said that infact it can stay for up to 7 years. I too had loads of bleeding when i first had it and used to joke thats why it was a good contraceptive! But was told to try to stick with it ( i was unable to take the pill) after 18 months i finally stopped spotting all the time and when i had my second one my periods stopped completely! :-)
So sorry for all the women that have had problems but just wanted to say that for me it has been a blessing, saved me from having a surgery and has been a reliable contraceptive for a very fertile woman.

Update on the removal of my merina: Well I was worried about this merina crash I had heard about, but I had none of these side effects. The first week of the merina removal I had a light headache and generally just felt a little spaced out, Probably just my hormones adjusting. Other than that my first period was heavyish but and quite crampy..but then probably no different to pre merina insertion. I am happy to say that I have been a full month without any spotting or break through bleeding and strangely but happily enough, the hives I had experienced for around a year and a half have totally vanished. Coincidence? I'm not sure. I had puat the hives down to an allergy to pollen but considering it is now summer here, I am beginning to think that maybe the merina was actually responsible for them. All in all I feel totally fine, not nearly as depressed and prepared to put up with heavier bleeding and cramping around my monthly. Totally worth it to just feel generally happier for the rest of the month.

Hello I had mirena put in after my second child I had it in for 4 years. I got it removed April 4 2013. I try and try to get pregnant. Finally in October 2013 I did. Everything was going good and then on dec 4 I started spotting the Next day I started bleeding the doctor did a ultrasound and said he saw a fetus and that all was good. But to be safe he check my HCG levels. Well I did they did the levels and then again 48 hours later. The doctor told me that I was probaly misscarrying cause my levels were dropping fast. A week later they did a ultrasound to confirm and sure enough my uterus was empty. I'm wondering why this has happen and if it has anything to do with having mirena prior. I never had a problem in my life to convince or a misscarrige. I use to be very fertile. I must wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Has anyone became pregnant on the Mirena? I have had mine for just about 5 years so I will have to have it taken out in a few months. The last few weeks I've gained a little weight and this week I have been craving apple juice like crazy! I've been terribly moody and I'm not sure what is going on! :( The mirena is the only protection that my boyfriend and I use due to it being so great at protection for the past 5 years. But, now I'm worried with these cravings and mood swings.

I had my first mirena IUD inserted after my twins were born in May 2006 I have had an IUD ever since. I didn't think I would have anymore children after my twins until I remarried and now want to try for one more. I had the mirena removed November 2013 and have been trying ever since but nothing yet. While on mirena I did not have a period..once removed my period has returned and has been on time every month. Has anyone else had the mirena for 7+ years the conceived afterwards and how long did it take? -hopeful

Within just one year I gained 25lbs(mind you I eat super healthy and go to the gym for like an hour and a half every single day, bloodwork fine so no thyroid issues etc..been 120lbs my whole life...until mirena. I was always a happy person always smiling...within a few months of having the mirena put in I became moody, negative, anxious and depressed. (So not like me) I regret with all that I am that I ever got that devil. I've had it removed only 9 days ago and I already am starting to feel better..and lost 6lbs. If you are considering getting this iud...do your research first!

I had the Mirena for 6 weeks. It was the worst 6 weeks of my life because I had my period the entire time. Also I developed 2 UTI's. Please don't use the Mirena. The doctor's will lie to you and day it is safe. I had mine removed a few days ago due to severe pelvic pain. Removal was easy but I am now bleeding so heavy that I pass huge clots.

I had my Mirena inserted in April 2007 and just had it removed a few days ago. I went to have it removed at the 5 year mark but my provider wanted me to find out if my insurance would cover a new one before she removed it. I didnt have many issues with the Mirena itself the 7 years I had it in. I had slight cramping at times, but I did gain over 50 pounds and seemed like no matter how much excersize I did or dieting, I never lost anything. If anything at all, I gained. There were some days where I kind of felt like the top of my cervix was going to explode open and it was very uncomfortable. I never had a period the whole 7 years that it was in. I too, was very afraid to have it removed in fear of pain. It didnt kill me when it was inserted but it def. did not feel good. It was very easy for her to remove it. I felt a slight tug and a little pinch and thats about it. I bled the first 7-8 hours it was removed. Then nothing for a day. Now today when I went to the restroom I have full force bleeding and my stomach is starting to cramp. THis is the part I never missed while having Mirena in. But I needed to see if this is the reason why I cant lose the weight, why Im gaining weight, etc. THanks! Kristy

I am having my old Mirena replaced with a new one next month. I have had zero problems I can connect to the device and never knew it was there; neither did my husband. I have had no period and just some spotting the last two months. I have just started with leg and back cramps I have never before experienced in the last month and wonder if they are due to a decrease in effectiveness or hormones. I am, after all, 42 so I'm not sure. I can only hope the next 5 years go as smoothly as thes that have just passed.

There's a very informative site with lots of information on how to lose weight and get rid of the mirena iud side effects and find other natural birth control options. Check out: http://mirenadetox.com/mirena-weight-gain/ Her detox has also been immensely helpful to my recovery and I seriously recommend it

I had the Mirena IUD placed in service back in 2009. My GYN highly recommended it because of the extremely heavy bleeding I was experiencing. At the time I was 49 years old and in her opinion this was a much healthier alternative to a hysterectomy or other procedures. And I still had those options if the IUD didn't work.

She was right, for me the Mirena IUD changed my life (the bleeding was that bad) However, I did notice a major weight gain of about 15-20 lbs and no matter how much I exercised losing weight was and still is next to impossible! Other than that, I did not experience any other symptoms, issues, or problems for the first four years.

Keep in mind I am now 54, this last year was different I started getting migraine headaches, heartburn, bloating and joint pain (all symptoms of menopause) before my period, yeah still get them off and on...even after five years.

I’m due to have the IUD removed next month; before I go in I have to decide whether or not I should have another one placed in service. My GYN recommended this course of action because the benefits out weighted the risks due to the heavy bleeding and during my journey through menopause.

I’m on the fence as to whether I should take it out and see how it goes or have it replaced.

If anyone out there had or has a similar situation and can provide any insight I’d very much appreciate it if you’d share your insight.

I'm 39, mum of 5. I had my tubes clamped & a mirena put in end of April 14. I continued to have "breakthrough" bleeding still, so my gyno put me on the pill to stop this. I've got extreme cramping in my lower abdomen, numbness down my thighs, weight gain, NO sex drive what so ever (my poor hubby) I'm depressed 99% of the time, so so tired, complete lack of motivation, forgetfulness, oh my, the list goes on.....
I'm making an appointment with a naturapath just to make sure everything is right, but I know my hormone level will be off the charts.

So glad I found this site & that I'm not going crazy.

I just had the Mirena inserted a few weeks ago, but I'm feeling strange. I had back pain before, but now it seems to be every night. I'm not gaining weight (that I am aware of), but my biggest concern is my mood swings. I had it put in after a pregnancy termination, and while I had felt lethargic and slightly emotional during pregnancy, I now feel depressed as soon as I am not occupied. I have trouble doing any small task without wanting to cry. My brain is telling me all these awful things, but logically I know I am being absurd. I am worried it will soon effect my relationship with my boyfriend. I thought Mirena was the perfect birth control. I am allergic to latex, and the pill requires such control and memory, when my life is frequently changing. But now I'm worried that I made the wrong choice-ive never felt this weepy, and this weak in the face of my own emotions. Is this really the Mirena?

My 5 years are up! My mirena was good no heavy bleeding what so ever lost 30 pounds and then gained it back while on mirena. But i have had constant tingling/numbness in my arms.. anyone else have this side effect? I go next month to have it removed I'm curious to see what is going to happen. I went to the mirena so that I could breastfeed and lower my milk supply it was great but hoping for no side effects after :-/ so sorry to hear about all of these women's horror stories but I really do think it depends on the person everyone is different. overall I will have it inserted again but we are going to try for our 3rd child. Good luck to you all and hope you find some answers.

I pulled my own skyla (newer, smaller version of mirena) I had it placed at 6 weeks pp and had horrible side effects ever since. Cramping as if I was back in labor. Bleeding every other day. Headaches. Zero sex drive. Mood swings. Gained 20 lbs in just 2 months. Not to mention because I was bleeding so much I was very anemic which caused severe fatigue and a dip in my breast milk supply. I felt an instant relief in the cramping as soon as I pulled it. I no longer was doubling over in pain, I felt better. I just hope since I only had this in for a few months that my cycle will quickly recover and my life can get back to normal

I'm 42, 270 lbs and I had this IUD put in Last year to help regulate my periods. I've never had kids nor do I want any.
My primary MD had moved so I had to go with some MD I didn't know. He was very informative of all the different options(pill, shot, IUD, etc).... and yet he recommended the IUD for me.
SO I did it.
WORST time puting it in. More pain then I've ever been in.

A year later. I think I've had maybe 2-3 months without cramps, bleeding, depression etc.

Finally found a new MD and we agreed to get it out and go on Depo. INSTANT relief when it was taken out. It was even in the correct spot. Got the shot the same day.
Now I have been bleeding for two weeks.....wonder how long this will last....

I am 47 years of age. Tomorrow I am getting the mirena inserted. I am getting it in the hope it will help with very excessive period bleeding and hopefully take me through the menopause. I have never had one before or taken any contraceptive. I have 2 kids and we used condoms over the years to avoid pregnancy. I'm very nervous about it but friends have told me its been good for them. I'm in 2 minds now. Has anyone got in to help with menopause and how did it go

Hello 47 year old lady (unknown). I had my Mirena put in 5 years ago for the same reasons you are having yours put in. I figured that 5 years later, I would be menopaused and wouldn't have anymore periods anyway. I am now 53 and have removed it 2 days ago (and I did it myself, it's as easy as removing a tampon - it was my choice and I do not recommend it of course). Now I am waiting to see what happens. I must say that I had a lot of the side effects but did not know about it. I even wanted to get another one just in case those super heavy periods would come back. Now I wonder. All I can tell you is that my emotions are raw right now and I have always been a super cool person. I watched the last episode of MASH on Netflix last night and couldn't stop crying at the end. That is definitely not me. Can keep you updated on what will be happening to my 53 year old body if you'd like and if anybody has been through this (having it put in pre-menopause and taken out after menopause), please post your experience.

I had my Mirena inserted in Oct 2014 because my OBGYN said i would control my hormones and prevent polyps from coming out as well as spotting between periods(i had one polyp removed she suggested i get an IUD). After IUD insertion it seems like my period never left, either on my period or spotting in between almost the whole month. My vacations turned into a frustrating one, my husband says this could not be normal. I enjoyed having sex with my husband a couple times a week but after IUD i didn't want to have sex because i wasn't in the mood and couldn't because i had my period!! I got alot of headaches, bloatness, constipation and was always sleepy and all i wanted to do was to be in bed, overall i was miserable.
After 6 months i called the doctor i wasn't feeling well, i went to see her she gave me antibiotics for discharge i was having and another prescription for yeast because apparently IUD causes these types of infections, in which i found out by researching the side affects and talking with friends. I finally removed it yesterday 1/6/16!! i explained to my doctor all the issues i was having and told her i can't do it i need it removed.
Today 1/8/16 i feel less bloated my stomach is not as hard anymore i know is too soon, but i also feel nauseous and have a headache.
I will keep monitoring my health and keep a journal of everything I'm experiencing. But somehow i am relieved i don't have this Mirena IUD in me.
note:
i am 39 from NJ, I also had a tubal ligation done in 2006 was never on birth control even before my tubal ligation.

I would love to hear how things are going for you! I've gained 15lbs in the nearly ten months I've had Mirena. Terrible mood swings I didn't even recognize. Awful cystic acne that never really clears up, even with lots of visits to the doctor and professional facials. My hair feels dulll/dry all three time. And I'm always tired! I was so happy to have an iud but after doing a lot of research I realize that this isn't just me "getting older" and other women have had issues as well. Getting the Mirena removed and Paragaurd placed on Wednesday.

I had the mirena in for 7 months july 8th 2015 to January 17th 2016
Same symptoms bloating stomach when i would sit or crouch down i would feel the mitena sticking inside my uterus i had depression weight gain cramps moodyness fluid retention all over my body
My marriage nearly fell apart due to my change in personality
Anxiety anyways you know the story.
After many dr obgyn refferals etc i realised after slowly ruling out why i am feeling like im ..going crazy loosing my mind no libido or relations with my husband for thr whole time ??? It hit me the mirena is the only thing that could be causing all my depression anxiety symptoms after doing much research on line i made the decision to take out the mirena (please do not attempt to do this yourselves as you could tear you're cervical cannal or you're uterus if it is in bedded inside the uterine cavity )
THIS IS JUST MY DECISION TO LAY ON MY BED PLACE ON STERILE GLOVES LUBRICANT AND GENTLY REMOVE VERY SLOWLY LIKE REMOVING A TAMPON.
i am a 50 yo lady who had the mirena placed via guided hysteroscopy and had D+C (dilation and currette) cost $2000 by a obgyn.
This is intended to help you ladies in my age group 49to 50
Was supposed to be for HMB and HRT.
Ps i am at day 2 post self removal still no period but small amount of spotting

I feel the same way,it will be five years next month that I have had the Lorena I , I have had no issues what so ever with mine and never gained weight, I have lost some, I very rarely have periods, if i do it last one day maybe and it's only when in use the restroom I notice that I am on my period, therefore theyvarw very very light periods, i have went months without a period at all, I am looking to having another put in after getting this one taken out. I do have a question though, does anyone else have any sort of vaginal pain when having sex?! I get a pain that feels as if my partner is hitting me on the inside to hard as if he is very long?! Wasn't sure if mirena could be a factor there?

Anonymous said...

I'm absolutely miserable with the mirena. It's been a living hell since day one. The biggest issues I have with it are the almost daily headaches, insane mood swings, foul vaginal odor (confirmed no infections), shortness of breath and abdominal pain. The headaches are constant and regular pain relievers do nothing. I'm almost scared to check my blood pressure. I'm almost certain it's causing me to feel winded all the time. I was completely misled in my decision to place this iud. I read the information and as I'm slowly learning, the more typical side effects are never mentioned. I feel like it's taken away the last year of my life.

I know this is an old message. . But worth mentioning my new Gyno said 100% you can have weight gain and bloating from synthetic progestin and immediately removed mine! I also have been eating a strict low carb diet and going to the gym 5 days a week. .. never lose more than 10lbs... what's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander! I'm tired of seeing all the naturally skinny women saying to watch your diet. . Lol. . Are you a doctor? You sound very judgemental. . Imagine that? Really? Just because you were able to lose weight while having yours does not mean every woman reacts the same. . So honestly maybe you should do your research before making such a blanket statement.

I know this post is old. . But my doctor told me today that my 50lb weight gain was likely 100% due to the synthetic levongesterol in the mirena. .. imagine that! ! So while you lost weight. ..a lot of women are gaining with it. So maybe it's you who needs to do more research lol. . And maybe stop being so judgemental while your at it!

I got my Mirena put in 3 years ago. My sister had already had one for 6 months and absolutely loved it. She could not say enough good things about having it - including that she was able to lose some weight, it stabilized her hormones and cleared up her skin, and she stopped getting a period.

All of that sounded awesome, so I made my appointment. I have a high pain threshold but that sh*t hurt. I almost passed out afterwards walking to the train to go home after the appointment. But it was in and I was relieved about it.

Fast forward to 3 weeks later. I lost about 15 lbs right away, was so emotional and upset and crying all of the time about nothing, I looked awful and felt awful, and could barely lift my head to get out of bed. I convinced myself that my body was just adjusting and that it would even itself out after a while.

I contacted the OB-GYN that put it in for me and she convinced me that it must be some outside stress that was causing my body to go through these changes: stress from work or problems at home perhaps? Because the Mirena has "very low dosage of hormones and no known side effects." Bull.

The weight came back slowly but surely and brought with it an extra 25 lbs that I have not been able to get off, despite meal plans, tons of water, and exercise. I was 132 lbs and fit when I got it in, dropped down to 119 which is quite skinny as I am 5'7, and I'm now at 153 lbs that I can't shed, including a heavy feeling around my midsection that was never ever there before.

I also got bumps along my cheeks that will not go away. I never had acne in my teens or early 20s, but now that I am 28 I do. The weight gain and skin imperfections are my biggest two gripes, although superficial.

My other side effects were: blurry vision, dizziness, foggy mind, not being able to retain information- forgetting everything!!, needing to sleep 10-12 hours per night, feelings of lethargy that never go away, migraine headaches, mood swings, anxiety, cravings for things like snickers bars?! on a daily basis, low libido during parts of the month, SUPER SORE HARD BOOBS for 2 weeks out of every month, stomach cramping, bloating, pain during sex, bleeding at random parts of the month (super annoying to just squirt blood and never know when its going to happen - how are you supposed to plan for that- just carry around tampons and pads every day forever?!).

The more research I did the more I realized how many women have had the same experience as me. Don't get me wrong, there are women out there who have their Mirena and love it, but I am not one of them and I wish I would have researched more before getting mine in.

I got mine removed on Saturday, it didn't hurt nearly as much as getting it put in, just a little awkward feeling in my stomach and pain in lower back for 3 seconds. They say you are supposed to get it taken out during period but I couldn't really plan for that since I never knew when mine would arrive.
I bled a little bit and had a blinding migraine a few hours later, but I was able to sleep it off and the next morning when I woke up (after only 7.5 hours of sleep) I felt amazing. I swear I lost an inch around my mid section overnight. No cramps, no feelings of bloating.

Its only been a few days now but Im already noticing a difference and my boyfriend this morning told me my skin looks great and he notices its starting to clear like it was 4 years ago.

Some things that helped me significantly during Mirena:
*Taking magnesium during crampy times, anxiety, and hardened boob times - Calm Tea by Natural Vitality- It can make you sleepy so if you are sensitive to that take it at night only.
*5-HTP I really think this helped clear my foggy brain and level out my sleep cycles a bit as well as boosting my mood and lowering anxiety I was feeling for no reason.

I'm really happy to have mine removed and hoping the weight and other side effects go away quickly so I can get back to my normal life - I wish I had never got my Mirena put in in the first place.

I am now on my second Mirena. The first one was a BEAUTIFUL thing. The was no weight fluctuations and my sex drive was that of a voracious 25-30 year old. I had spotting the month after I setting and than that was it. I was over the moon with it and couldn't have recommended it enough. So when the time came, it was a no question decision to swap for a new one.

That's when the fecal matter hit the reciprocating blades.

I have an inverted cervix so it wasn't a pleasant experience. My family Dr was having issues getting in (and she tried as gently as possible) and I was referred to my gyno. He got it in as well as he could but still not properly. My husband is fixed so it wasn't so much the baby preventing as much as the much needed hormones that I used it for. So a day surgery was booked to insert it properly.
It's been almost a year since number 2 was inserted. 2 months into it my sex drive went into a tail spin. They tried putting me on testosterone hormones to counteract the Mirena. Still nothing. I have a VERY understanding man in my life. It's been months and I think of sex like "why was this an enjoyable act? Why did I lose my virginity in the first place?"

I've gained 30 pounds in the year and it has killed my self confidence. Horribly. I'm active and aside from the binge every now and then, I'm healthy.

So now, after hubby goes in and get his check up on his vasectomy, the Mirena is coming out. I miss my body, and I think I miss sex.

Hi, this is my second mirena, I got my first ione after I had my first daughter and got it remover a year later and I had my second baby and decided to get the mirena again, I just got it put in the other day, it wasn't painful until it was put in, I've been cramping and bleeding a lot, it's not spotting it's like a heavy flow, I didn't do this the first time I had it in, I'm worried that I'm going to be bleeding for a long time and I have to wait 30 days for a check up to make sure it in the right place, should I just wait a couple weeks to see if I stop bleeding and cramping or should I call the dr. I don't want the mirena to do any damage to my insides and I really don't know if this is really worth the cramping and all the bleeding. Someone please give me some advice thanks

When I first got Mirena I was fine. My 2nd year into it is when things started to change. I had an eye exam well into my 2nd year. My prescription changed for the worse. 2 years after having it removed I went back to the optometrist and he was confused. He asked me what I did in the 2 years between eye exams. All I did was have my Mirena removed.

I had the Mirena inserted 5 months ago in February. I was talked (conned) into it due to my heavy periods with large clots and the fact that at 34 I started getting good them twice a month. While the IUD was in, I developed hypertension, panic attacks, palpitations, left arm numbness, overall feeling of terror, zero desire to go anywhere, and on and on and on. I wasted money on ER visits, Holter monitors, four new medications to treat my blood pressure and panic disorder, Holter monitor testing, etc. No matter how convinced I was that I was having a heart attack, there was never anything wrong with my heart. My family doctor couldn't figure out how all of these symptoms came out of nowhere, and we just chalked it up to my mild anxiety going off the rails due to stress. I have been through many high stress situations in my past, and never had these symptoms, but I assumed it must be the case...what else could it be, right?

I started to suspect the IUD and did an Internet search. I found story after story, support group after support group, law suit after law suit and they all sounded like my exact story. As though I had written each one myself. A lightbulb went off and I called my GYN. He confirmed that it is possible the IUD was causing these symptoms and I had it removed 3 days ago.

I have to warn everyone that although getting it removed is definitely the best decision ever, your GYN will NOT tell you what happens after removal. They will say "you will spot, and have mild cramps on the day of removal". I bled more than that on the day of removal, so I went back to the support sites and found out that I was in for quite a ride. I had two days of bleeding, not lightly, but not heavily either, and then today? The clots started, and the blood was pouring out of me. The clots are frequent and huge. The cramps are intense and worse than a regular period. I have bled through 3 overnight jumbo pads (the ones that go from one end of your underwear to the other) in a matter of 25 minutes. Even though I read so many stories that I expected it and prepared myself for it mentally, the reality of it, is more horrifying than I ever could have imagined. Had I not read up on it first, I would be convinced I was hemorrhaging.

I also know to expect the Mirena "crash" from the lack of Mirena hormone and extra estrogen in my system. So far, today is the first day I have felt more like the me I was before Mirena despite the bleeding. I feel happier, and the palpitations are very, very mild today compared to the 6 a minute I was experiencing for the past 5 months. I am just riding this out, and cannot wait until my body has rid itself of the "poison" that is Mirena.

Every woman is different, but I honestly would never recommend this to anyone. At leaSt not until you have researched outside of the lies your GYN will tell you. It's a nightmare and I cannot wait to awake from it.

My sister suffered chronic tinnitus for more than 47 years and it got worse as days passes. We tried many treatments but no result, she cry all time due to this symptoms and think to commit suicide as the noise get worsen. The noise is mostly of a ringing, roaring, buzzing and hissing type. It was constant 24/7. It is very bad affecting every aspect of her life. The sound becomes louder at night, at the time she goes to sleep. We just got a contact of Herbalist called Dr. William. His herbal (natural) medicine has cure my sister and he is living a good life now, though it cost us a lot but the goodnews is that the medicine has finally cured her. If you have same problem, contact him for more info (drwilly37@gmail.com)

Hi everyone, my name is Charlene Roberts and I had the coil inserted on the 25th July 2016 due to fibroid growth. It was the worst decision of my life. As soon as it was inserted, i bled non-stop and although the doctor said that was to be expected 6 weeks of bleeding did it for me. I thought I am not going one more day with this hideous device. I started to get headaches the first few weeks although that subsided but I then got horrible and sharp back pains as well as had to buy Feroglobin iron medicine as I was losing so much blood. The doctor said I need to wait at least 3-6 months before no periods. BS. I have read that people can bleed on the Mirena for up to a year, people's marriages have broken, I have been moody and angry for no reason at all and I decided to take it out myself. After researching how to take it out myself which I did not think was possible. But all I did was get hold of the strings and it just came out, I was shocked. It was so, so easy. I listened to this video, but for those who feel more comfortable going to a doctor please do so, it took me however only a couple of minutes or so to take it out once the strings were found it really does just slide out. I watched a video on you tube this and I have provided you guys with the link, please copy and paste this link https://youtu.be/wr41wsqfeM8 for self removal of the IUD. This girl is absolutely amazing. I have also updated my comments for this lady on her channel because she seriously just absolutely rocks!

I am 44 and got the Mirena on my GYN's recommendation due to painful periods and endometriosis. I have had the Mirena for two months and decided that I needed it out because I am also being treated for high blood pressure. Between the side affects of the Mirena and the pressure pills, I can't tell whats what. Last week I removed the Mirena myself and it was so easy and I am glad that I had the courage to do it. Honestly I was on the last day of my cycle and thought it was an opportune time to do it.

The next day my period came back with a vengeance. I had bright blood, dark blood and clots; surprisingly no cramps. I am disturbed that my period was ending on the Mirena but when i took it out, the blood flow came back so strong. Does that mean that my uterus is holding menses even though the Mirena was telling it not to shed? I find that gross and confusing. I always thought your cycle ended when your uterus lining was shed. Anyways, I'm five days post Mirena and still bleeding. I thought it was done again but the flow came back strong again after I had a bowel movement. I'm already on iron pills due to heavy menses pre Mirena so I will be taking these to keep my energy up. I've decided I'd rather have the heavy periods that I'm assuming my body is naturally inclined to as part of symptoms of being peri-menopausal.

To recap, I've only had the Mirena two months but that was long enough to know that it was not right for me. I actually lost 5 pounds which I attribute to feeling like I'm in a first trimester pregnancy for the last 2 months. The Mirena periods were just as painful and non-mireia periods so having the Mirena is a moot point to me. I am going to my primary care doc later this week and ask for a prescription of Tylenol with codeine for my painful periods as ibuprofen is not good for people with blood pressure issues.

Hey .i probably would have the worst story on here ....i got my mittens nine years ago .for the last year I picked up a lot of weight ...thats not an issue for me...my concerns are being that i left it in for that long..is there any harm done to my body ? Also I had this crazy idea to take it out myself ....i did within the last 20 minutes. Did I cause trouble to my body ? It also scared me how it looked..the end had knots on it and the piece of the string that hung out had a different color than the rest of the IUD

I first had symptoms when i was 17 and was told that i had PCOS (thin people type PCOS) and was officially diagnosed at 22 ans now i am 35. I have always had regular periods and unless on birth control pills were they irregular at times and I had a hard time getting pregnant because of the absent periods. I was always told by doctors that I would have a hard time conceiving so I would only go on the pill periodically which i did for more than 4 years, not for protection against getting pregnant, but just to get a period (since I was told it's not healthy to have less than 4 or so periods a year). Last time I went on a 3 month birth control pill and then stopped again because the medicine was not curing my pcos nor making me get pregnant. I went in search for a cure and ended up with so many drugs, medicine and even soaps that didn't work. I actually thought at a point that i was cursed that there is no cure for it, i was prepared to live like that till i read a testimony of a patient who suffered from pcos whose case was even worse than mine and how she was cured completely, I was amazed and at thesame time anxious and curious so i had to contact the doctor with the contact details that she left on the note. The doctor gave me so much hope and confidence with her kind words of encouragement to believe in myself and i was lifted because no one has ever given me hope like that before. I ordered the medicine, took it for 8 weeks and to my complete surprise, all the facial hairs, weight gain and all disappeared within 4 weeks and I ended up getting pregnant within a few weeks of completing the treatment! I was in shock. I think the main reasons it happened was that I never gave up and was ready to try alternative treatment so my body was back to normal. Before now i never enjoyed sex because it was very painful but now i do and my husband is the best thing that ever happened to me.. I hope this inspires some of you because I never in a million years would have thought that I would get pregnant and was getting frustrated and now our baby is due next month! You too can reach her on [aletedwin@gmail.com] for more information, advise and also how to place an order for yours.

"Dear dr williams, your herb has saved my life and my sanity. I was scared, and had been seeing numerous specialists and almost all of the straight away told me I had to remove my uterus because of my large fibroid. Can you believe this? To top it all up, none of those doctors had answered my simple questions on the subject. I was so scared that I would not be able to have a baby as surgery seemed like the only choice then. Your product had dramatically allayed my fears. I have read many other guides on the subject of fibroids and i think dr williams herb is yours offers and the only true and lasting solution to fibroid. I am a walking living proof of that claim. It has been 3 months since I implemented dr williams herbal portion, and I am now completely clear of fibroids and I am sure I am on my way to become a mother. I also feel very healthy and vibrant. Thank god for your work and support dr williams, for more information about his herb you can also contact his email address drwilliams098675@gmail.com

I felt like ending it i lost my husband to another woman 2 weeks ago after 27 years of marriage. We had a lovely marriage but he started a relationship with a co worker who chased after him. He is living away near his work, and he refuses to talk to me or to come home . I am devastated and am finding it hard to cope i was emotionally down . I wish I did not love him and that I could move on but I can't . I don't know how to stop feeling like this I wish I could and its eating me away and I'm starting to feel ill. I have degraded myself begging him to come home all to no avail. I became very worried and needed help. As I was browsing through the internet one day, I came across a website that suggested that Dr Ogudugu can help solve marital problems, restore broken relationships and I also came across several testimonies about this particular man so on. So, I felt I should give him a try. I contacted him and he did a spell for me. 24 hours later, my husband came to me and apologized for the wrongs he did and promise never to do it again. Ever since then, everything has returned back to normal. I and my family are living together happily again.. All thanks to Dr Ogudugu . If you need a spell caster that can cast a spell that truly works, I suggest you contact him. He will not disappoint you. if you have any problem contact him, I give you 100% guarantee that he will help you, This is his details, E-mail: GREATOGUDUGU@GMAIL.COM. Thank you all for reading.

"Dear Williams, I wanted to drop you a note and say 'THANK YOU', from the bottom of my heart. I was browsing the Internet back in AUGUST this year looking for help, any help. I have been diagnosed with a large fibroid that was extremely painful especially at night before my period. Thankfully enough I accidentally came across so many people with different ailment thanking dr williams for his medication. I thought I should give his medicine a try and if it worked then the thirty something bucks would have been worth it. I ordered his medicine and went to my local health store and bought the herbs and vitamins and the other more basic ingredients for his medicine and then started his medication that day. After 7 days I didn't see any change so I thought 'here we go again'. But it wasn't another disappointment. By the end of the 4th week on a bright Monday morning, all the pain and the awful bloated feeling just stopped. I immediately went and performed another ultrasound and guess what? The fibroid was not there anymore. I was so happy!

Thanks to your advice, I now know how to prevent any future fibroid formation and the array of symptoms that goes along with it, including the severe bleeding and heavy periods. Thank you so much for everything!"for more information on how to get his medication you can email him on drwilliam098675gmail.com

Just had my Mirena IUD removed a couple days ago. I got mine placed 1.5 years ago. In the beginning, it was pretty good. But the last six months have been horrible. Worsening lower back pain (but no prior back issues), chronic infections, horrible abdominal cramping, fatigue. Doctors tried to convince me that the IUD wasn't the problem. Finally got an ultrasound and the IUD is lodged in a fibroid. After removal, I notice an immediate drop in the lower back pain. Some women's bodies are not meant to have something foreign in their uterus. I'm one of them. So relieved to have it out!

Unknown said...

Finally people who are miserable with the mirena iud! I've only had it in for 12 days and I'm sitting in my bed at midnight wide awake and feeling like I'm losing my mind. I have horrible feelings of pelvic fullness , been bleeding like CRAZY since insertion and just overall feel like crap. I need this thing out! I had asked whether there was risk of anxiety or depression side effects since I already suffer with both of these problems and was told no there isn't because it's a small amount of hormone released slowly and is localized to the uterus. Well bullshit. I'm a mess and I'm blaming this stupid device. I had it put in to help control bleeding that I've had constantly for 4 months. The bleeding is now worse. I'm so tempted to go in the washroom and yank this thing out myself!!! I wish I had researched a little more before agreeing to this 'solution'. I will be asking for a hysterectomy before I let any more hormone driven solutions near my body.

"DR WILLIAMS, I wish to praise you for sharing such a simple but comprehensive herbal medication to tackle this disease from the root. This is truly a valuable resource for all men and woman suffering from tinnitus. It's been almost 10 months since my doctor first diagnosed me with tinnitus. My doctor suggested that I will try watchful waiting but as the months went nothing has changed.

As soon as I decided I'm going all the way and treat my tinnitus, I ordered Dr Williams and the results as you already know were shocking to say the least. The result I took clearly showed my tinnitus had completely vanished.

I have even encouraged my "Doubting Thomas" friend to order it and read it too. To have so much good information in one tight package is an unbelievable value. I would encourage anyone who suffers from tinnitus and/or any ears infection issue to take advantage of Dr Williams herbal medicine! you can contact him through his email on drwilliams098675@gmail.com for more information

Sincerely...

I got the Mirena IUD put in on March 5th...it was a little pinch and I had no bleeding or bad cramps which was awesome because I thought it was going to be awful but it wasnt, 2 days later I noticed a strong odor...I was horrified considering I don't normally have an odor. I went back to the Dr and she tested for infection, STDs and everything came back good. I have taken ph probiotics, used female ph body wash, 2 showers a day and the smell is still going strong (gross) that's really the only negative thing I have experienced but it's enough for me! I'm having it removed tomorrow morning...hopefully this odor doesn't last much longer! Just curious if anyone else has experienced this side effect?

CURE TO TINNITUS WITHOUT SIDE EFFECT: I was diagnosed with tinnitus and ears watts. My tinnitus hurt so bad that I was usually in bed for about 8 hours and soreness killers (even prescription strength) don't stop the loudness (except to knock me out) even if I take triple the dosage. Every night that come to pass it always louder and louder and all the doctors would do is monitor it, prescribe me countless pain control pills and pain medication with no positive result. until recently I contacted a Doctor who put an end to this problem. If you are having problem with tinnitus or any ears problem contact Dr. William for advice and possible solution without any side effect (drwilliams098675@gmail.com)

For those people whose relative are suffering from Tinnitus and maybe reading this, I find it hard that people are still ignorant of herbal medicine when it comes to treating Tinnitus. I have been through many phases over the last couple of years since my (audiological) exam/diagnosis, my tinnitus once buried me in a negative place where many of you are now - or have been. Believe me when I say, “I’ve been there.” I had sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL), losing 70 percent of my hearing up to 4,000 kHz. I began noticing a low level of tinnitus around 51 years old and the diagnosis changed my life in many ways, I spend most of the time in denial and I keep thinking the tests were wrong. But deep down I knew they were correct. The level spiked dramatically, spiraling me down into a pit of depression. I could not sleep or eat; I stayed in bed with sweats and shaking spells; I lost strength and considerable weight. My wife held me in her arms, trying to comfort me, and still I thought I was going to die. Though sharing his story is very difficult. I was always very successful in being able to accomplish anything I set my mind on doing. Tinnitus is a bitch. I feel a need to express my thoughts and feelings about how it affected my day to day living and how its deteriorated since despite the help of some wonderful medics and medicine.
I remind myself how lucky to come across aparajita tan herbal medicine which is able to control Tinnitus without any side effect, I felt a moment of relief hoping that I am free from this ailment, and  nothing compares to the healing power of nature. Now I believe almost every health problem can be addressed in one natural way or another. The only thing I wanted was for me to feel better. I’m proud to say am Tinnitus free. You can also contact him for advice and more info. aparajitatan@gmail.com
